Aloha! Having worked in Title 1 schools for over 6 years, I know the importance of engaging students in learning! I love creating projects and activities that can be utilized in the classroom and are fun for the students and teachers.
I am a Teacher of the Year Nominee for Honolulu, HI. I have my Master's Degree in At-Risk Students from Goucher College and my undergraduate degree from Frostburg State University.
My latest adventure was creating a set of children's books for Kindergarten Students, Parents, and Teachers to enjoy. You can follow the adventures of Right Choice Riley and Lousy Choice Larry and engage in activities that are aligned to the Common Core Standards.
I have really enjoyed working with the standards and with the staff from NextLesson to create products that will engage students and teachers. Teachers can teach the standards in a fun way that are relevant to the standards. I like thinking outside the box to help students learn and understand.
Outside of teaching and writing, I write children's books, Right Choice Riley and Lousy Choice Larry; play double's beach volleyball; and make memories with my amazing toddler and wonderful husband.
